This exhibition marks the launch of in situ, a new series dedicated to site-specific installations that push the boundaries of contemporary practices. Bringing together artists whose work spans visual art, technology, music, and performance, in situ explores new ways of perceiving and inhabiting space.

Jonathan Monaghan transforms Grand Central Madison into a surreal dreamscape in his new work entitled “The Gilded Passage.” This 3D-animated video installation follows a procession of glowing unicorns weaving through the concourse, seamlessly integrating with the architecture of historic Grand Central above and the new Grand Central Madison below to create an illusionistic interplay between physical and virtual space. Drawing from Beaux-Arts ornamentation and the perpetual motion of transit, the work reimagines the everyday commute as a mythical passage through time, blending nostalgia, speculative futures, and mythical creatures.
