GMUNK (Bradley G. Munkowitz) is an American artist whose practice explores the evolving relationship between photography, optics, and machine perception. Working across photography, moving image, and immersive installation, he combines full-spectrum imaging with computational image systems to reveal forms, behaviors, and hidden structures beyond ordinary human vision. Drawing from more than two decades of research in experimental optics, holographic visualization, computer vision, and cinematic image-making, his work investigates how photography can evolve beyond documentation into living systems of transformation.

Recent solo exhibitions include InfraMunk is Breathing at DANVAS × SuperRare (2023) and Motus in Lucem at W1 Curates, London (2023). Major installations include Rivian Borealis during Miami Art Week (2025), Windows to the Future at Synapse Code, Madrid (2024), The Totem (Toronto, 2022), Asteria at Dolby Gallery, San Francisco (2018), and Telestron at Day for Night, Houston (2017).

His work has been presented through four Christie's exhibitions—Proof of Sovereignty (2021), The Gateway at Art Basel Miami Beach (2021), Trespassing III (2022), and The Next Wave: The Miami Edit (2023)—as well as Sotheby's Natively Digital 1.2 (2021). His work has also been exhibited internationally through Beeple Studios, Seattle NFT Museum, Pellas Gallery, ABV Gallery, ADM Hangzhou, and institutions and exhibitions throughout North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia.

Alongside his gallery practice, GMUNK has spent more than two decades designing holographic systems, computer vision interfaces, and machine perception experiences for feature films, live performance, and immersive media. This ongoing investigation into how machines interpret and visualize the world forms the conceptual foundation of his contemporary art practice, where photography, optics, and computation converge into new forms of perception.
