In Hart’s Mortifications series, realistic 3D-modeled nude figures are digitally "mutilated" with fractal and geometric deformations, combining organic decay with rational algorithmic forms. Using ABS plastic, typically for industrial purposes, the series proposes a digital Baroque, blending expressive, irregular imagery with mathematical precision. The figures, created via a "lost wax" technique, start as 3D prints, are molded in plastic, and then cast in aluminum. This process emphasizes the tension between physical and digital realms, exploring the uncanny through sculptural transformation.
