Recumulations reinterprets Trisha Brown’s systems choreography through virtual bodies in nonlinear digital spaces. Claudia Hart’s 2010 project, created with Roberto Sifuentes, updates Brown's 1971 dance video Accumulations using 3D animation. Sifuentes' erratic performance, captured at Columbia College, serves as raw data for a new digital choreography. Hart’s hybrid avatar, a gender and racially fluid Cyborg, dances in a space that both respects and defies gravity, projected on gallery walls.
